6 Health Tips to Stay Energized All Week

Have you ever taken the time to observe children? It seems as if they are a ball of energy level all the time. From time to time, you think to yourself, “Boy, what if I had that energy.” Can you imagine how much you can achieve in a day if you had the energy of a child? Believe it or not, at some point in time, we all had that type of energy. This ridiculous amount of energy kept us active, excited, and full of joy. As we have gotten older, the circumstances of life have caused us to lose some of our energy along the way.

Things such as anxiety, worry, and negative emotions have caused a domino effect on our minds and bodies. Some people equate age with a loss of energy, but how do you explain why some adults have more energy than others? Could it be sheer will power to act and think differently than others? What are some things you can do to energize yourself?

Move

That’s right, get up and get moving. Exercise is an excellent way to increase your energy level. Studies have shown that regular exercise can increase your energy level. A regular routine of exercise is more effective than stimulants such as energy drinks. If exercise is not your thing, that’s okay. Do something else that requires you to move. Have you ever thought about dancing? Yes, shake your booty and shake it often. Dancing is a great exercise and an excellent way to reduce stress and anxiety.

What are you eating?

Certain foods increase your energy levels and others that have the opposite effect. If you are eating fried foods and fast foods often, you can be assured that you will have a decrease in energy in short order. It is a known fact that the foods we eat can be a great source of energy.

Are supplements a good source of energy?

The answer is yes. Supplements, when combined with a healthy diet, can have a huge effect on your energy level. Certain vitamins help to transform the food you eat into energy. A great example is L-carnitine supplements. This dietary supplement produces energy by transporting fatty acids to the cellular levels in our bodies. Some suggest the best time to take l carnitine is after a workout or with a meal throughout the day.

Zone out

If you find yourself constantly drained and void of energy, meditate. Meditation has numerous benefits that include:

  • Stress reduction
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Promotes emotional health

Some people feel they have to be in a yoga class in a downward dog position to be in a meditative state of mind. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you are like many of us, your schedule is jam-packed with work, home activities, kids, and the like. There are moments when you can step away to a quiet place, close your eyes for a short period of time, and breathe in and out naturally for a few minutes. While this routine doesn’t have to belong, it does need to be deliberate. For this to be effective, it needs to become a consistent routine.

Get some rest

Resting is essential to our everyday existence. Like food, you need rest to energize your body. After you’ve finished with your day’s activities, you need time to unwind and rejuvenate your mind and body. The proper amount of rest can help increase your alertness and decrease fatigue. Studies have shown that most adults need, on average, 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night. It has also been suggested that intermittent napping throughout the day is also beneficial for increasing energy levels.

Have fun

Because our lives are so busy, having fun can seem like a luxury instead of a necessity. We feel that if we cut out fun activities in our lives, it will give us more time to take care of the things that matter. This couldn’t be the farthest thing from the truth. We need to have fun and do things that bring us joy. By doing so, we are, in essence, contributing to an improved mental state, which in turn can have a positive impact on our bodies. The bottom line, having fun, is good for your health.

Energy is the force that keeps us going every day. It is so important in our lives that many companies have developed drinks and supplements that help boost our energy. They’ve made millions of dollars doing it. You don’t necessarily need energy drinks or bars to boost your energy. A simple change in your everyday routine can help in achieving that goal. No matter how hectic your life is, it is important that you focus on being the best you. Get up, get going, and get energized.
